Things we have done that make us proud

The overall planting scheme for the McGrath Automobile Dealership was designed to create a pleasant aesthetic for both patrons of the Dealership and passers by, while also satisfying the City of Chicago Landscape Ordinance and River-walk guidelines.  It was clear from the start of the design process that the Owner placed particular importance on the landscape and planting design of the business property. 

With the establishment of the River-walk guidelines, the City has determined the improvement of the riverbank is a priority, hoping to eventually connect the properties along the river with a continuous pedestrian trail.  Special consideration was taken during the design development of the riverbank planting along the McGrath property.  Existing planting on the site was taken into consideration and preserved and additional planting is proposed to make the space pedestrian friendly from the land while also visually pleasing from the water.  Pedestrian circulation was carefully considered to plan for future expansion of the River-walk from neighboring properties.  Seating areas were determined with vistas out onto the river for McGrath employees, patrons and (eventually) the public should the walk be connected to an overall trail someday.

The area, in which McGrath is located, is going through a renaissance of new development and renovations to existing businesses that will continue to prompt the improvement of the outdoor environment.

Work

The clients’ vision for a garage addition  expanded into a large scaled kitchen renovation, home addition, pool house and pool replacement complete with all new landscaping and formal entry garden. 

Perched on a beautiful bluff overlooking Lake Michigan, mother-nature gave us a great start.
